LSEG World-Check One

The highest level of sanctions defence

Moving cargo in a complex and volatile world requires the highest levels of assurance and risk management. LSEG World-Check One is a powerful and comprehensive maritime sanctions tool, providing users with a risk assessment fully in line with regulations and legislation. Developed in collaboration with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), it leverages World-Check, the global standard database for sanctions and regulatory risk.

Fully integrated into the RightShip Platform, the sanctions check conducts a review of a selected vessel against World-Check's comprehensive database, instantly alerting compliance teams to relevant risks and generating an easy-to-understand report. This allows users to make informed decisions in accordance with their business needs and risk appetite.

Checking vessels against a comprehensive range of risks

The tool checks vessels against a full range of current and historical sanctions, as well as against legal and regulatory risks (like vessels connected to human rights violations). It also investigates ownership and management structures to uncover hidden risks.

World-Check checks vessels across two categories: ECVES and SIVES.

ECVES (Embargoed Country or Region Maritime Vessel) identifies all entries for vessels both sanctioned and non-sanctioned which are connected to countries or regions subject to embargoes or sanctioned entities or individuals. It includes:

  • Sanctioned vessels
  • Vessels flagged by an embargoed country
  • Vessels owned, managed, or operated by sanctioned entities/individuals
  • Vessels owned, managed, or operated by companies situated in an embargoed country/region
  • Illicit and deceptive shipping practices

SIVES (Special Interest Vessel) identifies vessels involved in risk and/or connected, related, associated, affiliated, linked to, owned, or controlled indirectly by a sanctioned entity/individual. It includes:

  • Vessels listed by an international body in respect of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing
  • Vessels reported as being involved in the trafficking of arms, narcotics, counterfeit goods, etc.
